Armstead Claims Second GNAC Rookie Of The Week

PAXTON, MA: Sophomore forward Gabe Armstead (Dallas, GA) of the Anna Maria College men's basketball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 5, 2021 as announced by the conference on Monday.

Armstead continued to dominate the paint for the AMCATS, helping power the team in back-to-back victories this past week. The rookie averaged 18.0 points per game with 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 assists per game, shooting an incredible 63.6 percent from the floor.

It is Armstead's second conference Rookie of the Week award, having previously been so recognized for the week ending November 14, 2021. As of press time, Armstead leads the AMCATS in scoring (18.0 ppg), rebounding (9.4 rpg) and blocks (1.9 bpg).
