Men’s Hoops Cruise Past Rams

PAXTON, MA : 645 days after their last victory on their home court, the Anna Maria College men's basketball team enjoyed an 83-63 over visiting Framingham State University on Tuesday evening at the Fuller Center in Paxton.

THE GAME WAS DECIDED WHEN:

  • Up by 13 at halftime, the AMCATS surged in the second half, going up by as much as 27 off a three-pointer from reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week senior guard Ralph Grasso, Jr. (Marlborough, MA) with 9:11 to go and the score at 68-41.

 

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Anna Maria Jakai Alexandre (Fitchburg, MA) led the AMCATS with 18 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the floor and four-of-six from behind the arc. He also dished out six assists with three rebounds and two steasl.
  • Grasso finished with 15 points, four steals and three assists.
  • Anna Maria sophomore forward Gabe Armstead (Dallas, GA) prowled the paint for the AMCATS with eight boards, 11 points and a block.
  • The AMCAT defense forced 32 turnovers by the Rams, leading to 32 points.
  • Framingham State junior Javaris Hill (Lynn, MA) shot eight-of-eleven from the floor for 18 points and posted a game-high 11 rebounds.

                                                                                                                                             

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the court on Saturday when they host Johnson & Wales University in their GNAC opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
