HIGHLIGHTS

  • GAME One – AMCATS junior centerfielder Hunter Dunithan (Reno, NV) had a career-high four runs batted as the AMCATS scored more than seven runs for the fifth time in seven games in the month of April.
    • Trailing 2-1 heading into the fifth inning the AMCATS took their first lead of the game thanks to a two-run double by Dunithan that scored Nick Morely (Milbury, MA) and Nick Genatossio (Sutton, MA). A walk to Jason Shell (Sandwich, MA) then drove the Blazers starting pitcher from the game. After a pair of outs by the AMCATS and a walk to James Powers, senior catcher Noah Holland hit a bases-loaded single to bring home Dunithan and Shell.
    • The sixth inning saw the AMCATS tack on two more runs thanks to a bases-loaded walk by Shell and an RBI groundout by Jeremy Rosenberg (Boynton Beach, FL) to make the score 7-2.
    • The AMCATS were able to put up a third crooked number in the seventh inning after the Blazers had tied the game in the bottom of the sixth. The AMCATS made the most of another bases-loaded situation. This time it was Dunithan who came through with the hit for the AMCATS, a single to bring home Holland and pinch-runner Seref Mcdowell (Wareham, MA).
  • Game Two – The AMCATS bounced back in game two behind a pitching gem from Anthony Pingeton (Charlton, MA) who struck out seven while scattering four hits and allowing only one run, recording the complete-game win. The 8-1-win improved Pingeton's record to 2-3.
    • Dunithan was a force on the basepaths once again. He reached base all four times he came to the plate with three singles and a walk and two runs scored. He also stole two bases, improving on his AMCAT single-season record total to 24.
    • Morley matched Dunithan with three hits including a fourth-inning double and a seventh-inning RBI single that gave the AMCATS their final edge of 8-1.
    • Senior Jarrod Marifote was also perfect in two plate appearances including an RBI double in the seventh.
