After two scoreless innings the AMCATS pounced first after James Powers capitalized on an overthrown ball making his way home for the AMCATS first run of the night. The Lasers would answer back later that inning scoring a run off a sac fly to tie the game up at one.

Leading off for the AMCATS in the top of the fourth inning, Christian Villa found himself on second after a throwing error from the Lasers third baseman. A wild pitch put Villa on third just before Brady Aylward knocked one into left center field for an RBI double sending Villa home for the AMCATS second run of the evening.

It was a battle of the defense for the next four innings as both teams held each other scoreless. After a lock down performance all game Anthony Pingeton left the game in the bottom of the eighth where Nick Choate stepped in and struck out three batters to close out the inning and hold the lead for the AMCATS.

With two outs on the board and a runner on first in the top of the ninth inning James Powers stepped up to the plate and bombed one out over the right field fence for a two run homer, adding some insurance to the AMCATS lead over the Lasers. Leading 4-1 over the Lasers in the bottom of the ninth inning, Choate struck out two more batters to close the game out in dramatic fashion.
