Baseball Can’t Come Back Against Cougars

WP (3-1): Benjamin Spencer - 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K
LP (0-3): Nick Choate (Northbridge, MA.) – 6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 5 K

A battle of the defenses started the game as both teams held each other scoreless for the first three innings of play. It wasn't until and RBI double from the cougars notched the first run of the game at the top of the fourth inning. The AMCATS tried to retaliate however they were held at bay by the Cougars pitcher.

A scoreless fifth inning would keep the game moving along before a pair of runs in the sixth inning off of passed balls would increase the Cougars lead to 3-0. The Cougars continued their scoring in the seventh inning scoring a run off an AMCATS error. The Cougars fifth and final run of the night came off of a fielders choice play that sent the runner on third home. The AMCATS were held scoreless by the Cougars pitcher Benjamin Spencer throughout the first seven innings.

It wasn't until the Bottom of the ninth inning when they AMCATS broke their scoreless streak off an RBI single from Kosta Drosidis to send Christian Villa home for the AMCATS first run of the night. Jeremy Rosenberg sent out an RBI single to push James Powers home. This would be the last run scored by the AMCATS as the Cougars closed things out to seal the final score at 5-2.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
