Turley Earns NSCAA Regional Scholar Recognition

COMPLETE NSCAA WOMEN'S COLLEGE DIVISON SCHOLAR ALL-EAST REGION TEAM

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Senior Cristina Turley (Waterford, Conn.) of the Anna Maria College women's soccer team has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Women's College Division Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention team, as announced earlier in the week.

Turley, an education major with a 3.44 grade-point average, scored three goals and dished out two assists for eight points in her senior season. In her final season with the team, she played in 16 games and made 11 starts.

To be named to a Scholar All-America Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member.

Turley is the only female student-athlete from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to earn NSCAA regional scholar recognition.

The AMCATS wrapped up the 2014 season in October with one of their most successful outings to date; the team posted a 6-11-1 overall record and tallied their first GNAC win in program history in a 2-1 game against Rivier.
