HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Playing in the final home game of her career Matloff put on a clinic for the AMCATS playing against the second-ranked offense in the GNAC, tallying ten saves before finally surrendering a goal in the 62nd minute on a lucky shot. Matloff surpassed her previous season high of ten saves from Anna Maria's home game against Saint Joseph's College on September 11th.
  • With 28:02 to go in the game, Lasell would finally break through when junior midfielder Bobbi O'Guin     (West Newton, MA) turned from thirty yards out and hooked a beautiful shot that just escaped the reach of Matloff, putting the Lasers up 1-0 on O'Guin's fifth goal of the season.
  • Lasell would score an insurance goal in the 67th minute, as senior midfielder Serena Speight (Biddeford, ME) broke through and finished with an assist going to freshman midfielder Alyssa DeOliveira (East Providence, RI).
  • Finally, Lasell sophomore midfielder Charlie Arellano (West Covina, CA) – taking a corner kick – hooked it in herself, putting the Lasers up 3-0 for the final score.
  • Lasell sophomore goalkeeper Riley Silvia (Raymond, ME) recorded the shutout with two saves.
