Baker's Long Shot Draws Women’s Soccer At Simmons

BRIGHTON, MA : The Anna Maria College women's soccer team tied 1-1 in double-overtime at Simmons University on Saturday in Brighton.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Simmons Sydney Neumuth's 70th minute header into the upper left corner was her first goal of her collegiate career, putting the Sharks up 1-0.
• Just a minute later, Anna Maria senior midfielder DeAnna Baker (Lansdale, PA) tied it up with a 18-yard shot from just outside the box for her second goal of the season, and the 1-1 would hold up for the final score.
• Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Alice Yokabaskas (Farmingdale, ME) surrendered just one goal in 110 minutes, with one save.

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Monday when they return to Paxton for a 6:00 p.m. match against Mass Maritime.
