Women’s Soccer Falls Short At Framingham

- FRAMINGHAM, MA : The Anna Maria College women's soccer team lost 3-1 at Framingham State University on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • With the AMCATS trailing 1-0 late in the first half, Anna Maria junior forward Alexandra Rowland (Leicester, MA) scored the equalizer in the 44th minute for her second goal of the year, as the teams went into intermission tied at one goal apiece.
  • Anna Maria senior goalkeeper Rachel Matloff (Grafton, MA) tallied six saves in 72 minutes for the AMCATS.
  • Anna Maria senior midfielder DeAnna Baker (Lansdale, PA) had a team-high six shots with four on-goal.
  • The Rams got on the board in the 23rd minute when Camryn O'Leary chipped in a cross from Calen Frongillo around the AMCAT keeper for the 1-0 lead.
  • The Rams broke the tie with consecutive goals in the 71st and 73rd minutes. First a long free kick by the Rams was bounced around a few times and then chipped in by O'Leary for her second of the afternoon. The Rams scored again when Frongillo finished off Megan Ethier's pass to reach the final margin.

- Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they travel to Standish, Maine for a 1:30 p.m. match against Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
