Women’s Soccer Rally Comes Up Just Short At Emmanuel

BOSTON, MA : The Anna Maria College women's soccer team lost 3-2 at Emmanuel College in GNAC action on Tuesday evening in Boston.

THE BASICS:

  • Date: Tuesday, October 5, 2021
  • Score: Emmanuel 3, Anna Maria 2
  • Records: Saints of Emmanuel (3-6-2, 2-4 GNAC) | AMCATS of Anna Maria (1-9-1, 0-6-1 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Down 3-0 early in the second half, the AMCATS turned to senior forward Keannah Dunsmore (Georgia, VT) to rally them back. The senior striker netted two unassisted in rapid succession in the 64th and 66th minutes, her first two goals of the season. That was as close as Anna Maria would come, however, as they were turned away the rest of the game.
  • Anna Maria senior goalkeeper Rachel Matloff (Grafton, MA) entered the game in relief in the second half, allowing no goals in 45 minutes.
  • Bailey Maurer, Addie Legault and Megan McMillen all scored for Emmanuel in the first half.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they travel to Simmons for a 1:00 p.m. GNAC match.
