Women’s Basketball Ends Season In GNAC Playoffs

NASHUA, NH: The Anna Maria College women's basketball team saw their 2021-2022 season come to an end Tuesday evening the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) first round, losing 93-67 at Rivier University in Nashua, New Hampshire.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Anna Maria senior guard Franchesca Hammond (Worcester, MA) saw her stellar career with the AMCATS come to an end, leading the team with a game-high 21 points and ten rebounds, four assists and two steals, all while shooting six-of-ten from behind the arc. Hammond will finish her career ranked third all-time in Anna Maria's career assist list with 343 dimes.
  • Anna Maria senior guard Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, MA) added 13 points with six rebounds.               
  • Anna Maria senior guard Julitza Delgado (Southbridge, MA) stepped up for the AMCATS with ten points, nine rebounds and four assists on the night in her final career game.
  • Anna Maria freshman center Megan Burdett (Charlton, MA) stepped up in the absence of fellow rookie middle Marinique Reddin (Tampa, FL), pulling down five boards to go along with four points.
  • Rivier sophomore Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) continued to dominate GNAC opponents, scoring 19 points with 12 rebounds and four assists.
  • Rivier sophomore forward Anna Stenger (Weare, NH) was a force with 17 points and 14 boards.
  • Rivier sophomore guard Hannah Muchemore (Nashua, NH) finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals.
  • Rivier freshman forward Alexa Dufries (Leicester, MA) added 13 points.
