Falcons Upend Women’s Hoops

NEW HAVEN, CT: The Anna Maria College women's basketball team lost 81-50 at Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Nest in New Haven, Connecticut.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Albertus Magnus freshman guard Diamond White (Hamden, CT) led all scorers with 21 points, shooting eight-of-twenty from the floor.
  • Anna Maria freshman forward Marinique Reddin (Tampa, FL) led the AMCATS with 13 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists and one blocks.          
  • Albertus Magnus freshman forward Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, CT) posted a double-double with 20 points and ten boards.
  • Anna Maria freshman center Megan Burdett (Charlton, MA) contributed 11 points while pulling down eight boards.
  • Shooting did the AMCATS in, as the Falcons enjoyed a 43.5 to 25.7 advantage in field goal percentage.

THE GAME WAS DECIDED WHEN:

  • The Falcons led almost from the opening tip, leading by 11 3:10 into the game and going up by as much as 13 before going into halftime with a 12-point lead at 38-26. In the second half, Albertus pulled away.

 

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the court on Saturday when they travel to the University of Saint Joseph in a 1:00 p.m. game.
