Women’s Basketball Opens GNAC Play With Win

PAXTON, MA : The Anna Maria College women's basketball team won 55-40 over visiting Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Fuller Center in Paxton.

STANDOUTS:

  • Anna Maria freshman forward Marinique Reddin (Tampa, FL) was a dominant force in the paint, scoring a game-high 17 points with 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead the AMCATS. It was Reddin's first career double-double.
  • Anna Maria senior guard and team captain Franchesca Hammond (Worcester, MA) filled the stat-line with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists.
  • Anna Maria sophomore guard Chloe Giordano (Goffstown, NH) came off the bench to score a career-high 11 points, burying three baskets from behind the arc.
  • J&W sophomore forward Victoria Russian (Milford, MA) led the Wildcats with ten points and ten rebounds off the bench.
  • J&W freshman forward Rose Hockman (Morris Plains, NJ) pulled down an incredibly 17 rebounds in just 25 minutes of playing time.
