Bottis Nets Hat Trick to Lead Women's Soccer to 4-0 Victory

NASHUA, N.H.—Sophomore Ashley Bottis (Rutland, Mass.) netted a natural hat trick to lead the Anna Maria College women's soccer team to a 4-0 shutout win against the Eagles of Daniel Webster College on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the AMCATS improve to 2-1, while the loss drops Daniel Webster to 0-2.

THREE TIME'S A CHARM

Bottis scored all three goals in the first half, beginning with an unassisted tally in the 32 minute. She added two more unassisted scores in the 58th and 67th minutes, respectively. Bottis also had a game-high 14 shots, 11 of which were on-target.

ADDITIONAL SCORING

With four minutes left to play in regulation, Alexandra Begun (Shirley, Mass.) connected on an assist from Judith Zelayandia (Worcester, Mass.) for the AMCATS' fourth goal of the game.

STATS COLUMNS

Anna Maria outshot the Eagles 36-5 on the afternoon and held an 8-3 advantage on corner kicks.

MINDING THE NET

Daniel Webster's Stephanie Evans had a stellar day in net as she tossed aside 20 shots while allowing just four goals.

Sophomore Kate Kneeland (Windham, Maine) tallied three saves in just under 82 minutes of action before giving way to Emily Liakos (Arlington, Mass.) who was not forced to make a save in the final minutes.
