Bottis Named GNAC Corvias Women's Soccer Player of the Week

COMPLETE GNAC REPORT

WINTHROP, Mass.—Sophomore Ashley Bottis (Rutland, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College women's soccer team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

HISTORY

She becomes the first member of the AMCAT soccer program to earn GNAC Player of the Week honors—last season, both Kate Kneeland (Windham, Maine) and Emily Gorrivan (Windham, Maine) both earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors last season.

HER NUMBERS

Bottis scored twice in Anna Maria's 2-0 win against Mass. Maritime on Saturday afternoon. She scored her first goal just 1:58 into the game, and added a second tally in the 41st minute.

Overall, Bottis, a transfer from Curry College, started in both games on the week.

THE TEAM

Anna Maria finished the week at 1-1 after opening the season with a 6-1 loss to Coast Guard. The team is on the road twice this week, first at Daniel Webster on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at Albertus Magnus at 1:00 p.m.
