AMCATS Swept by Daniel Webster in Volleyball Action

Nashua – Senior Brier Temple (Concord, N.H.) continued her hot start to the season, notching a double double with match-highs of 10 kills and 15 digs and committed just two errors while fellow senior Samantha Hill (Hudson, N.H.) added nine kills and 10 digs, guiding host Daniel Webster past Anna Maria, 3-0 in a regional women's volleyball matchup Tuesday night at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

Ally Hayden (Bedford, N.H.) dished out 23 assists and Jennifer Finneran (Barnstead, N.H.) chipped in with four service aces, three kills and a solo block as the Eagles improved to 3-1 overall with set scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-20.
Alex Rodriguez (Southbridge, Mass.), Jacqueline Clinton (Walpole, Mass.), and Kayla Cummings (Auburn, Maine) had four kills apiece for the AMCATS (1-4). Alyssa Haberman (Boca Raton, Fla.) led AMC with 13 digs, while Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) had 10 assists.
DWC hit .131 as a team while Anna Maria was held to -.032, as the Eagles finished with advantages in total kills (30-18), aces (7-4), and assists (27-17), while the AmCats finished with a 56-51 advantage in total digs.
The Eagles never trailed in the opening two sets and fell behind only twice in the third. Temple, who is hitting .375 over her first four matches, knocked down five of her kills in the opener and DWC took control early, building leads of 9-3 and 19-13 and would later close the set with a Hill kill for the 25-20 win.
Temple and Hill would knock down three kills each in the second with Temple adding nine digs helping limit AMC to two total kills in the 13-point win.
Anna Maria grabbed leads of 6-5 and 11-10 in the third but DWC took control with a 9-1 run keyed by three Finneran aces and two of Hill's four kills in the set to pull ahead 19-12 and the Eagles would let the AmCats no closer than three down the stretch.

The Eagles hit the road for the first time this season on Thursday night when they visit Suffolk at 7:00 p.m.
