AMCATS Swept by Rams 3-0

The Suffolk University Volleyball team earned their eighth win of the season by sweeping the Anna Maria College AMCATS 3-0 on Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

With the victory the Rams move to 8-14 on the season, picking up their second GNAC win of the year and improve to 5-2 at home on the Regan Gymnasium floor.

Anna Maria was led by Sandy Acosta who had 10 digs and 4 blocks in the loss.

Senior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) one the Rams leader in kills again as she posted 12 in the contest, including six in the third match clinching set.

Freshman Tori Brilland (North Andover, Mass.) had a season-high with nine kills in the contest along with two blocks for Suffolk.

Freshman Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) recorded four service aces, all coming in the first set for the Rams as they were 25-17 winners to start the night off. Suffolk then edged out a 25-23 win in set two, before closing out the AMCATS 25-11 in the third.
