AMC Chopped by Mountaineers

PAXTON, Ma. – The Mountaineers traveled to Anna Maria College where they won in three sets 25-16, 25-11, and 25-17. Southern Vermont College improved its record to 6-1 in the early goings while Anna Maria dropped to 0-2.

The Mountaineers were led by Alicia Manzo who had nine kills while only committing one error on 15 attempts. Manzo hit for a remarkable .533 hitting percentage, while also leading the Mountaineers with eight service aces. NECC Player of the Week, Danielle Healis had seven kills in the match on 17 attempts. Roxy Domines had 20 assists for SVC, while Vivian Delgado picked up 10 digs.

The AMCATS mustered up 14 kills, including one in the final set, against the stingy SVC defense. However, Nichole Robbie connected for seven kills, while Sandy Acosta recorded five. Anna Maria setter Alicia Bonneau assisted on 10 of the 14 kills.
