AMCATS Clipped By Wildcats

Providence, R.I -- The Johnson & Wales women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory against Anna Maria in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at the Harborside RAC on Wednesday evening. Johnson & Wales had a commanding 25-9 win in the first game before the visiting AMCATS rallied for a 25-18 victory in game two to knot the contest at 1-1. The Wildcats then responded in the third game with a 25-13 victory to take the 2-1 advantage. JWU closed out the victory with a 25-12 win in the fourth and deciding game.

Senior Audrey Warren (Haverhill, Mass.) led the way for JWU with nine kills while freshman Alyssa Drapeau (Biddeford, Maine) had six kills, 18 set assists, five digs and three service aces in the victory. Sophomore Courtney Wright (Windham, N.H) had nine kills and seven digs for the Wildcats while junior Karlie Haack (Selkirk, N.Y.) added six kills and seven digs for the Wildcats.

Anna Maria was paced by senior Nicole Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) with five kills and eight digs while sophomore Alex Rodriguez (Puerto Rico) had 10 digs in the loss for the AMCATS.

With the win Johnson & Wales improves to 6-22 on the year and 4-4 in the GNAC while Anna Maria falls to 3-19, 0-11 in league play.
