AMCATS Honor Acosta on Senior Night

Paxton, MA – The Fuller Activities Center at Anna Maria College was the site for three GNAC conference volleyball matches between the AMCATS of Anna Maria College, the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University, and the Raiders of Rivier University on Friday evening.
AMCATS Win on DIG PINK Night

PAXTON, Mass. – Led by senior Sandy Acosta’s (Lawrence, Mass.)11 kills and freshman Samantha Parker’s (Athol, Mass.)12 assists the Anna Maria College’s women’s volleyball team downed Route 56 rival Becker College 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 18-25, 25-16) in non-conference action on Monday night. Both teams donned pink warm-up attire on Dig Pink night at Fuller Center, with the win the AMCATS ended a 5-game skid improving to 3-20 while the Hawks slip to 2-22.
Saints Sweep AMCATS in GNAC Action

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team used a balanced offensive attack to down Anna Maria College, 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-16), in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Jean Yawkey Center. With the win, the Saints improve to 12-15 on the year and 6-3 in the GNAC while the loss drops the AMCats to 2-20 and 0-10 in the GNAC.
Fighting Scots Sweep AMCATS

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria senior Sandy Acosta (Lawrence, Mass.) and junior Alexandra Rodriguez (Puerto Rico, PR) each lead the team with six kills and freshman setter Samantha Parker (Athol, MA) contributed fifteen assists, but Gordon College junior Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, VA) smashed a match-best ten kills to help spark the Fighting Scots to a 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-18) sweep in Wednesday evening’s non-conference volleyball match at the Fuller Center. With the loss, the AMCATS slide to 2-18 while Gordon improves to 13-12 overall.
Emerson Outlasts Women's Volleyball, 3-0

Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria AMCATS dropped a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-8) decision to the conference leading Emerson Lions in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s volleyball action Monday night at Fuller Activities Center. With the win the Lions remain undefeated in the conference at 7-0, 13-8 overall, while the AMCATS slip to 2-17 (0-8 GNAC).

Paxton, Mass. – Freshman Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) set a new Anna Maria record for assists in a game, when she tallied 31 helpers in a grueling five set match against Castleton State on Saturday afternoon. Parker broke the two year standing record of 30 assists set by graduating senior Alicia Bonneau on October 18, 2010.
