Scafidi Set to Play in NEIBA All-Star Game- June 11, 2012

UPDATE JUNE 8, 2012: The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) 38th annual All-Star Game has been rescheduled for Monday, June 11th at 7pm at Campanelli Stadium, home of the Brockton Rox in Brockton Massachusetts. Tickets will be $5.

Paxton, Mass. - Senior Jeff Scafidi (Worcester, Mass.) has been selected to play in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) 38th annual All-Star Game.

Division I players from across the region will make up the University Division Team while the College Division Team consists of 12 DII standouts and 16 DIII senior all-stars.

Scafidi has re-written the Anna Maria baseball record books. He holds 12 all-time records including batting average (.404), hits (230), home runs (14), RBI's (143), and total bases (353).  The Captain was a major contributor to the 2011 ECAC New England Championship team.

 In 2012 he batted a robust .409 at the plate, with 54 hits, 4 home runs and 32 RBI's. 

The Worcester native was rewarded for his fantastic season by being named the 2012 GNAC Player of the Year, putting a cap on his stellar 4-year career and earned the prestigious Anna Maria College Male Athlete of the Year award.
