Diamantopoulos, Wodatch Plate GNAC Awards
Paxton, Mass. – Senior hurler Dean Diamantopoulos has collected GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors and junior Kevin Wodatch has been listed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.
GNAC Pitcher of the Week
Dean Diamantopoulos (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was 2-0 for the AMCATS last week, pitching AMC to two crucial GNAC wins. In a 6-1 win over Suffolk University Dean scattered 7 hits over 7 complete innings allowing just one earned run and striking out 2. In a 3-2 win over #17 Saint Joseph's (ME) the senior hurler only allowed 4 hits over 6 innings giving up just 2 earned runs in a 3-2 victory.
GNAC Honorable Mention
Kevin Wodatch (Wallingford, Conn.) In 6 games last week Wodatch batted .429 on 9-for-21 hitting, with one home run, a triple, two doubles and 5 RBI's. Wodatch was 2-for-4 in four out of six GNAC contests leading Anna Maria to a 3-3 week. In a 3-1 loss to SJM Wodatch tied the AMCAT record for home runs in a season at 6 and in the second game of the doubleheader Wodatch had two singles for RBI's driving in the first and second runs in the 3-2 win.
