Four AMCATS Named to Field Hockey All-Conference Teams

WINTHROP, Mass. –Four Anna Maria Field Hockey players were named to a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference team as voted upon by the league's coaches. Senior Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.) and junior Jacqueline Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) were named to the All-Conference First Team while senior Emily Standring (Worcester, Mass.) was named to the All-Conference Second Team and defender Ashley George (Leicester, Mass.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Among GNAC category leaders, Moran is first in goals (24) and points (57) and third in assists (9). Moran led the AMCAT offense this season with four game winning goals. She was named GNAC player of the week three times this season and helped lead the AMCATS as a captain.

Lapierre had eight points on the season from two goals and four assits. She added a great deal of strength in the middle of the field and contributed defensively throughout the season. Lapierre played and started in all 19 games this season.

A senior defender, Standring had an outstanding season in the backfield. She started and played in all 19 games and collected three crucial defensive saves including one in the AMCATS 4-1 victory over Nichols College. As a senior defender she brought leadership to the backfield that became eminent to the team's success.

Another senior defender for the AMCATS, George stepped up in her final season to help lead the AMCATS to many victories.
