Field Hockey Stopped On the Road

FITCHBURG, MASS.: Senior Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) stood tall in goal, recording a career-high 18 ssaves in the AMCATS 4-0 loss at Fitchburg State this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Falcons defense stymied the AMCATS offense, holding the visitors to just two shots. 
  • Tobey followed up her career-high tying 12 saves in the game at Worcester State on Thursday with another stellar game, stopping 18 of the 22 shots she faced. 
  • Falcons midfielder Lena Kassel (Stuttgart, Germany) was responsible for the damage done by the Falcons, taking 14 shots, 10 on goal and finding the back of the goal four times. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • The 18 saves by Tobey were the most by the AMCATS since Nikki Streete and Cassandra Micklesavage combined for 19 saves against St. Joseph's (ME) on September 8, 2018.
  • It was also the highest single-game save total for an AMCATS netminder since Mary Kate Breen made 23 saves in a double overtime 4-3 win against Bridgewater State on October 1, 2015
  • Junior midfielder Eden Forget (Worcester, MA) had the AMCATS loan shot on goal while freshman Madison-Marie Romano (Lebanon, ME) saw her only shot go wide of the net.
