Field Hockey Continues Hot Streak at Elms
CHICOPEE, MA: The Anna Maria College field hockey team traveled to Elms College on Saturday afternoon for some Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Timothy J. Leary Field.

HIGHLIGHTS
- With today's victory, the AMCATS secured their first winning record in GNAC play since they went 4-2 in 2015. The six GNAC victories represent the most conference wins the AMCATS have had since a pair of 6-0 seasons in the NECC in 2012 and 2013. The AMCATS four-game winning streak is the team's longest since they won five in a row between October 1st and October 13th in 2015.
- The AMCATS were the first ones on the scoreboard, scoring with just under a minute remaining in the first quarter. Following a small scrum in front of the net that saw junior Nicole LaCoste (Rochdale, MA) come out with the ball and pass it to a wide-open Carly Drew (Rochester, MA) who fired into the empty net.
- The Blazers scored their only goal of the game with just over 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Ellie Serra was able to finish off a feed from Samantha Bonneau.
- The AMCATS answered back about six minutes later as senior midfielder Meghan Sonia (West Tisbury) scored an unassisted goal.
- Senior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) recorded six saves on seven shots, including four in the third period alone. The win improved her season record to 7-8.

Anna Maria will be in action again on Saturday when they host another Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent, the Johnson & Wales (RI) University Wildcats, at Caparso Field. The teams will take the pitch for a 4 PM start.
