Moran Named GNAC Player of the Week for Third Time in 2016

WINTHROP, Mass.—Senior Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College field hockey team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Player of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

MORAN'S RECORD SETTING WEEK

Moran had a monster week for the AMCATS as she scored five goals and dished out four assists for 14 points. She netted a hat trick on the team's 5-2 win over Framingham State on Tuesday.

She scored the lone goal in Anna Maria's 2-1 loss to Johnson & Wales, which was the 22nd of her season, making her the new program leader for goals scored in a season. She broke the previous record of 21 goals which was set by Kylie Dalbec '16 during the 2014 season.

MORAN'S SEASON

Moran continues to be the most dominant scorer in the GNAC this season. Her 22 goals are league-leading, with the second-highest goal-scorer having just 11 goals on the season. Her 51 points are also double the second-best points producer in the conference. Moran is just three points shy of setting a new record for points in a season. The current record (53 points) was set by Dalbec in 2013.

WHAT'S NEXT

The AMCATS (7-7, 2-3 GNAC) play two road non-conference games this week as they travel to Bridgewater State on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. game and head into Worcester to take on WPI on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
