Chargers Out Race Women’s Basketball 58-48

NEW LONDON, NH: On Thursday evening, the Anna Maria College women's basketball team met up with the Colby-Sawyer College Chargers in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference game at the David L. Coffin Field House.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The AMCATS entered the fourth quarter trailing by a single point but saw the Chargers open the final frame with a 12-0 run. The AMCATS would get back as close as six behind a fast break three-pointer from Gina Parmenter (Oxford, MA) with about two and half minutes on the clock.
  • Sophomore forward Marinique Reddin (Tampa, FL) led all scorers with a game-high 18 points. Reddin also added 11 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season.
  • Freshman center Sophie Law (Brookfield, MA) added on 10 points in 17 minutes off the bench.
  • Parmenter joined Law and Reddin in the double-digit club with 10 points while adding two blocks and two steals on the defensive end.
  • The AMCATS enjoyed a 24-11 edge in points off turnovers while forcing 25 turnovers.
  • The Chargers were paced by Marissa Holt and Emily Parent with 14 and 12 points respectively. Holt also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

Anna Maria will close out the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Northfield, VT to meet the Norwich University Cadets in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup at Andrew Hall. The teams will take the floor for a 1 PM tip-off.
