Women’s Basketball Comes Back To Beat Raiders 76-72

PAXTON, MA: On Wednesday January 11th the women's basketball team hosted the Rivier University Raiders in the Fuller Gymnasium for a GNAC conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 76-72.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

• After falling short in the first quarter the AMCATS trailed behind the Raiders 26-18 going into the second quarter of the game.
• Putting up a better performance in the second the AMCATS out scored the raiders 13-12 however still trailing behind going into the second half.
• With some fresh legs the AMCATS came out in the second half of the game ready to play, putting up 24 points on the Raiders in an effort to close the lead.
• The AMCATS close on the Raiders tail going into the final quarter trailing by only three points.
• The Raiders picked their lead back up early in the fourth quarter going up 72-64 just over halfway through the final ten minutes.
• The AMCATS weren't done yet however climbing back up until a late three pointer by Gina Parmenter tied the game up at 72 a piece.
• The AMCATS were able to close the game out with two made free throws from Chloe Giordano to seal the deal for Anna Maria with just 20 seconds left to play.
• With a strong finish from the Anna Maria defense the AMCATS were able to close the game out leading 76-72 over the Raiders.
• Marinique Reddin led the team with a career high of 33 points in tonights game against the Raiders bringing her to 500 career points in under two seasons!
