Wildcats Scratch Past Women’s Basketball

PROVIDENCE, RI: On Thursday, January 5th the Anna Maria women's basketball team traveled south to Providence, RI to face off against the Johnson and Wales Wildcats in a GNAC Conference competition. The AMCATS fell to the Wildcats 66-53.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • After closing out the first quarter trailing by 7 points, the AMCATS took control in the second quarter holding the Wildcats at 5 points.
  • Despite outscoring the Wildcats in the second quarter the AMCATS still found themselves down by a basket going into the second half of the game.
  • The AMCATS couldn't pull past the Wildcats in the second half closing out the game with 53 points behind Johnson and Wales 66.
  • Gina Parmenter and Julitza Delgado led the AMCATS with 11 points a piece in their effort against the Wildcats. Following close behind was Marinique Reddin who put up 9 points and Chloe Giordano who collected 8 points.

Women's Basketball will be back in action on Saturday, January 7th where they will host the Albertus Magnus Falcons in the Fuller Gymnasium in Paxton, MA. Tip off for the game will be at 12:00PM.
