Ten Players Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

PAXTON, Mass.—Ten different members of the Anna Maria College field hockey team were named to the 2014 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, as announced by the NFHCA on Monday morning.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. Highlighting this year's list is senior Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.), who has qualified for the honor for four-straight seasons.

Members of the AMCATS' junior class earning the honor include Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, N.H.), Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine), Amanda Hebert (South Deerfield, Mass.) and Shelby Looney (Leicester, Mass.).

Representing the sophomore class on the list is Katherine Albro (Leicester, Mass.), Lauren DiPillo (Canton, Mass.), Kayla Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) and Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.).

Freshman Bryanna Tobin (Deep River, Conn.) is the lone member of the Class of 2018 to earn academic squad honors in her first season on the team.

In addition, the AMCAT squad was one of 120 Division III programs across the country that earned the 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award. It marks the fifth-straight year that Anna Maria has qualified for this award, which is given to programs with a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Anna Maria compiled a 3.4 GPA in the fall 2014 semester.
