Field Hockey's Lapierre and Schilowski Earn GNAC Player of the Week Honors

COMPLETE GNAC RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass.—Anna Maria College field hockey players Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) and Danielle Schiloski (Upton, Mass.) have earned weekly honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as Lapierre was named the league's inaugural Player of the Week and Schilowski was honored as the Rookie of the Week.

Lapierre scored the second goal in Anna Maria's 2-0 win against Colby-Sawyer in the season opener on Saturday afternoon. She took five shots in the afternoon, four of which were on net, to record a .800 shots-on-goal percentage.

Schilowski assisted on the game-winning goal, scored by Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.), in her collegiate debut. After nearly 30 minutes of scoreless play, Scholowski fed a pass to Lowe to put the AMCATS on the board at the 29:52 mark. Shilowski added three shots of her own off the bench, two of which were on goal.

The AMCATS return to action tomorrow, when they travel to Wheaton (Mass.) for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
