Dalbec Tabbed to ECAC New England All-Stars Second Team

COMPLETE ECAC ALL-STAR TEAM

DANBURY, Conn.—Junior Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) of the Anna Maria College field hockey team has been named to the ECAC New England All-Star Second Team, as announced by the league office late Thursday afternoon.

Dalbec, who becomes the first player in AMCAT history to earn ECAC New England postseason honors, adds the award to an already decorated postseason—she was named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-New England First Team in mid-November and was crowned the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Year at the conclusion of the season.

The leading scorer in the GNAC's inaugural season, Dalbec tallied 21 goals as a junior and also led the league in total points with 48. She tallied a league-leading nine game-winning goals in 2014, including three in conference play and the game-winner in Anna Maria's upset win against St. Joseph's in the GNAC Semifinals. Dalbec also ranks among one of the best scorers in the country, as she holds the 29th slot in goals per game in all of Division III in 2014.

Dalbec was one of just two GNAC players to be named to the ECAC All-Stars team—senior defender Avery Hines of Simmons was also a second team selection.

The ECAC New England Offensive Player of the Year title was awarded to Rachel Kennedy of Bowdoin. The Defensive Player of the Year is Sophie Doering of Trinity, while teammate Kelcie Finn was tabbed the Rookie of the Year. Julia King, the head coach of Wellesley, was named the Coach of the Year.
