Dalbec Garners Field Hockey GNAC Player of the Week Honors

WINTHROP, Mass.—Junior Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) of the Anna Maria College field hockey team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Dalbec totaled five goals and broke the program's all-time scoring record in a 2-1 week for the AMCATS. In Anna Maria's 4-3 double-overtime win against Elms on Tuesday, Dalbec scored all four goals, including the game-tying goal with seven seconds left in regulation, to force overtime. She then netted the game-winner 5:21 into the second overtime period.

The game-tying goal broke the AMCATS' career scoring record of 38. Following her goal in Anna Maria's 2-1 win against Framingham State on Thursday, Dalbec sits atop the leaderboard with 40 career goals. She also holds the AMCATS career points record of 104, as she reached the 100-point milestone against Elms.

On the season, Dalbec has scored eight times and has an assist for 17 points. She has netted three game-winning goals in 2014 and holds a .672 shots-on-goal percentage.

Dalbec is the second Anna Maria field hockey player to be billed as the league's top player, as teammate Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) was named the GNAC'S Player of the Week three weeks ago.

The AMCATS (4-5, 0-2 GNAC) will be back in action on Tuesday, September 23rd when they travel to Clark University for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game. The team will also be on the road on Saturday, September 27th for a 12:00 p.m. GNAC tilt at Mount Ida.
