Saints Sweep AMCATS, 3-0

The Basics:

-Score: Emmanuel College 3, Anna Maria College 0

-Records: Anna Maria College (3-7, GNAC 0-1), Emmanuel College (3-6, GNAC 2-0)

-Location: Paxton, Mass. (Fuller Activities Center)

- The Lead: The Anna Maria College volleyball team fell to the visiting Saints of Emmanuel College Saturday morning in a sweep of three sets with a score of 3-0. Senior, Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.). notched her 1,000th career kill.

How It Happened:

-The Saints took set one by a final score of 25-18 to begin the morning.

-The AMCATS scored the first point of the game with a kill by Rebecca Foti from teammate Kerri Earle (Bethel, Conn.).

-The Saints took their largest lead of the first set, 20-11 with a kill from Samantha Demarco (Rockdale, Mass.).

-Emmanuel kept the lead for the rest of the set.

- The Saints took the second set of the day with a final score of 25-19.

-Foti scored her 1,000th kill in the second set with an assist from Earle.

-The last set of the morning was a final score of 25-17.

-The Saints scored the first point of the set with a block from Grace Nieder (Oconomowoc, Wisc.).

-The AMCATS were back in the game from being down five points following a kill from Foti, 11-10.

-That's as close as they would come as the AMCATS still tread behind the Saints for the remainder of the set, and ultimately fell 27-17.

Inside the Numbers:

-Mary Shelow (Miami, Fla.) of Emmanuel led all players with 20 kills on the day.

-Carly Church (Hingganum, Conn.) of the visiting Saints had the most assists of the game with 28.

-Carly Church and Casey Sheehan (Medway, Mass.) of Emmanuel tied Carolina Gracia of Anna Maria for most digs in the match with 15.
