Women’s Volleyball Upended by Wildcats

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball team welcomed Johnson & Wales University on Saturday morning in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Fuller Activities Center.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Junior outside hitter Sarah Burt (Plymouth, MA) and senior middle blocker Ashely Sheehan (Medford, MA) led the AMCATS with four kills apiece.
  • Burt also led the AMCATS with eight digs, while senior libero Serena Dennis (Holyoke, MA) contributed seven digs.
  • Freshman setter Isabella Sand (Seymour, CT) and junior setter Julia Tarantino (Pembroke, MA) each had five assists.
  • The Wildcats saw double-digit kills from Peyton Oliver while Sarah Miller added nine. The Wildcats were led by Emily Corbett with 20 digs. Corbett also tied with Savannah Campbell with a game-high three service aces.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Kills: JWU 40, AMC 17
  • Service Aces: JWU 11, AMC 4
  • Digs: JWU 52, AMC 32

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be in action again on Tuesday when they host a tri-match tournament with the Bridgewater State Bears and the Emmanuel College Saints at the Fuller Activities Center. The teams will take the court for an 11 AM start.
