Women’s Volleyball Sweep Hornets

LYNDONVILLE, VT: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball returned to action this evening when they traveled to the Stannard Gymnasium on the campus of Northern Vermont University-Lyndon for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS earned their first win of the year, sweeping the Hornets in three sets.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Senior middle blocker Ashley Sheehan (Medford, MA) doubled her season total with five service aces to lead the AMCATS who enjoyed a 17-6 edge in the category. Sheehan also added two kills.
  • Senior middle blocker Ryann Hassett (North Oxford, MA) and freshman outside hitter Suzette Scheer (Farmington, CT) tied for the AMCATS team lead in kills with four apiece.
  • Freshman setter Isabella Sand led all players with a game-high 11 assists.
  • The Hornets were led by Calysta Lohman who had four kills and five service aces to lead her team in both categories. Her four kills were equal to the total for the remainder of her team.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Kills: AMC 21, NVU 8
  • Service Aces: AMC 17, NVU 6
  • Digs: AMC 31, NVU 27

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be in action again on Saturday when they will return home to play Fitchburg State at the Fuller Activities Center. The teams will take the court for a noon start.
