KEENE, NH: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball played the second game in as many days when they traveled to Spaulding Arena on the campus of Keene State University.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The AMCATS attempted to rally in the third set to extend the match but ended up falling just short, losing the set 25-22. A kill by sophomore outside hitter Jana Hunt (Woodstock, ON) on a set from Isabella Sand (Seymour, CT) got the AMCATS as close as 21-20 in the third set.
  • Sarah Burt (Plymouth, MA) had a team-high six kills with Hunt just behind her with five.
  • Sand and junior setter Julia Tarantino (Pembroke, MA) led the AMCATS with six assists each while senior middle blocker contributed a pair of service aces.
  • Senior libero Serena Dennis (Holyoke, MA) extended her streak of double-digit digs to open the season to four. Going back to last season she has now recorded double-digit digs in seven of her last nine games.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will next play again on Saturday when they will travel to New Port, RI to play a tri-match with Salve Regina and Plymouth State. The action will begin at 11 am against Salve Regina and be followed immediately by the matchup against Plymouth State.
