Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Away the Lynx

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball returned to action this afternoon when they hosted Lesley University at the Fuller Activities Center for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS got a dominating performance from senior middle blocker Ashley Sheehan (Medford, MA) en route to a three-set sweep.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Sheehan had seven kills and nine service aces, accounting for 16 of the AMCATS 75 points. The seven kills came on just seven attacks, for a perfect 1.000 kill percentage.
• Freshman setter Isabella Sand (Seymour, CT) contributed nine service aces of her own while producing a game-high 16 assists.
• Sophomore outside hitter Jana Hunt (Woodstock, ON) had five kills, trailing only Sheehan and equaling the Lynx team total.
• Seniors Serena Dennis (Holyoke, MA) and Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA) tied with a game-high seven digs each.
• The AMCATS had a season-high 30 service aces, while their 28 kills represent a season-high in a three-set match.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to West Hartford to play St. Joseph's University (CT) at the O'Connell Athletic Center. The teams will take the court for an 11 AM start.
