Women’s Volleyball Fall to Monks and Falcons

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball returned to action this afternoon when they traveled to Albertus Magnus College for a tri-match with the host Falcons and St. Joseph's College at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • In their first game of the day, the AMCATS were led by senior outside hitter Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA) with seven kills while junior outside hitter Sarah Burt (Plymouth, MA) contributed five of her own. Both Kozciak and Burt also added an ace apiece in the service game.
  • Freshman setter Isabella Sand (Seymour, CT) was tops on the AMCATS with 17 assists.
  • Senior libero Serena Dennis (Holyoke, MA) recorded a game-high 15 digs, while Sand and freshman libero Olivia Oliveira (Mashpee, MA) added seven each.
  • In the final game of the afternoon, the AMCATS went a full five sets with the host Falcons. The AMCATS had a duo of players with double-digit kills, led by Burt with 18 and Koziack added 13. The AMCATS also got a season-high six kills from senior middle blocker Patty Agbeh (Raleigh, NC).
  • Sand again led the AMCATS in assists, this time recording a team season-high of 32 assists. The team's previous high had been 19 by Sand against Emmanuel on October 8th and by junior setter Julia Tarantino (Pembroke, MA) on September 6th against Baypath.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be in action again on Thursday when they host another Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent, the Rivier University Raiders at the Fuller Activities Center. The teams will take the court for a 6 PM start.
