Volleyball Downs Baypath, 3-0

PAXTON, Mass.—Freshman Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.) and senior Jacqueline Clinton(Walpole, Mass.) both totaled nine kills to lead the Anna Maria College volleyball team to a 3-0 win against the Wildcats of Bay Path College on Saturday afternoon at Fuller Gymnasium.

The win marks the second straight for the AMCATS, who improve to 4-1 on the season, while the loss drops the Wildcats to 1-3.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-14, and 25-16.

Foti totaled her nine kills on 23 attempts with just three errors to record a match-best .261 hitting percentage.

Clinton had a day across the board for the AMCATS, as she also recorded team-highs in service aces with four and digs with nine. Junior Jessica Goulet (Lawrence, Mass.) added six kills and two service aces for Anna Maria, while junior setter Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) dished out a match-high 27 assists.

Bay Path was led by Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn.) with six kills and 12 digs. Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) added a match-high 13 digs. Bay Path setter Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) dished out nine assists.

The AMCATS totaled 33 kills as a team and averaged a .234 hitting percentage through the three games including a .286 average in the first game.

Anna Maria returns to action on Tuesday, September 9 as the team travels to Regis College for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference match.
