Bigelow Named Women's Basketball Coach

Paxton, Mass. – Kevin Bigelow, who has served as the assistant men's basketball coach at Anna Maria College for the past season, has been named the 12th head women's basketball coach in Anna Maria history, according to Anna Maria athletic director Stanley Vieira.

"We are extremely excited to promote Kevin to head coach of our women's program." Vieira says. "Coach Bigelow is the best fit for our program at this time and we are ready for him to get started as the coach of the AMCATS."

As an assistant coach under Anna Maria head coach Shawn Conrad, Bigelow was responsible for all recruiting aspects for the men's program along with film breakdown, fund raising and academic advising.  The 2011-12 AMCATS squad, seeded 6th in the GNAC tournament, had a great run to the GNAC finals and earned an ECAC bid.

Before joining the AMC staff, Bigelow held the same position at Worcester State University for two years and has five years of coaching experience in the high school ranks.

"I am thrilled to lead this team and this program. This is a community that loves women's basketball, and I relish the opportunity to build upon that tradition" said Bigelow "I can think of no greater school to continue my coaching career and begin my head-coaching tenure."

Bigelow earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from Anna Maria College and is currently an admissions counselor and athletic liaison at AMC.
