2018 Women's Volleyball Season Preview
PAXTON, Mass -The Anna Maria Women's Volleyball team is back on campus partaking in preseason activities preparing for the 2018 season.
First year head coach Jamika Townsend and her AMCATS revealed the schedule for the upcoming 2018 season earlier this month. It consists of twenty-nine games, including twelve Great Northeast Athletic Conference contests.
Townsend and the AMCATS welcome in seven new student athletes to the squad, joining forces with the five returning players from last year.
Women's Volleyball will open the season on the road at one of Anna Maria's biggest non-conference rivals, Becker College for a tri-match with Castleton University on Saturday September 1st. They will start with the Hawks of Becker College at 11:00 am, followed by a matchup with the Spartans of Castleton University at 1:00 pm.
The AMCATS open up their home schedule with a tri-match of their own on Saturday September 8th, facing off against GNAC opponent Simmons College and non-conference foe Dean College with the matches to be played at 12pm and 2pm.
The 'Cats non-conference schedule includes Mount Holyoke, Framingham State, and in conference nationally ranked #6 Johnson and Wales (RI).
