Field Hockey Shuts Out Rivier, 4-0

NASHUA, N.H.—Junior Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) recorded a goal and an assist as the Anna Maria College field hockey team posted a 4-0 shutout win against the Raiders of Rivier University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the AMCATS improve to 8-7 overall and 2-3 in GNAC play, while the loss drops the Raiders to 4-10 on the season and 1-4 against league opponents.

Dalbec netted the would-be game-winner in the 31st minute on an unassisted tally. The AMCATS took the 1-0 lead into the second half, where Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.), Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.), and Jacqueline Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) all tallied goals.

Kayla Lapierre recorded an unassisted tally in the 43rd minute, followed by Lowe's goal, assisted by Dalbec, in the 58th minute.

With five seconds remaining in the game, Jacqueline Lapierre registered her first career goal.

Rivier goaltender Makenzie Flagg recorded an impressive 17 saves in net for the Raiders as the AMCATS held a 24-3 shots advantage in the game. Anna Maria also held a 12-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Junior goaltender Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, N.H.) recorded three saves in her 11th career shutout.

Anna Maria will be back in action on Wednesday, October 15th when it hosts Regis College in a 6:00 p.m. non-conference game.
