Lady AMCATS Extend Win Streak to Five, Down Becker, 3-1

LEICESTER, Mass. – Sophomore outside hitter Alyssa Haberman (Boca Raton, Fla.) tallied 13 kills with a .423 kill percentage to lead visiting Anna Maria College to a 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 25-16, 25-17) win over host Becker College in women's volleyball action on Tuesday night at the Leicester Gym. The AMCATS of Anna Maria have now won five straight and hold a season record of 5-2 while the Hawks of Becker drop to 0-4 to start the 2013 campaign.

Senior outside hitter Alexandra Rodriguez (Puerto Rico) added nine kills, two service aces and 15 digs in the win against the crosstown rival Hawks, while sophomore right-side Jessica Goulet (Lawrence, Mass.) had nine kills. Sophomore setter Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) set the table with 33 assists and nine digs, while freshman defensive specialist Michelle Connolly (Quincy, Mass.) led the team with 17 digs. Sophomore right side Brianna LaRegina (Troy, N.Y.) had a match-high six service aces along with six digs.
Freshman middle-hitter Marissa Turner (Coventry, R.I.) led Becker with nine kills and six digs. Junior setter Lauren LaVallee (Millbury, Mass.) contributed 24 assists and 16 digs while senior outside hitter Katelyn Burns (Fall River, Mass.) had a match-high 28 digs.
Becker will look to right the ship on Thursday when they host Curry College at 7:00 p.m. For Anna Maria, their next test comes on Saturday when they host a tri-match against Eastern Nazarene College and Daniel Webster University beginning at 11:00 a.m.
