Click Named ECAC Co-Player of the Week
Paxton, Mass. – The accolades continue to roll in for senior Anthony Click's tremendous week of basketball for Anna Maria. Click has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III – New England Co-Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Click led Anna Maria to back-to-back overtime Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) wins and averaged 29.0 points and 8.0 rebounds for the pair of games.
In a 4 OT thriller vs. Lasell the senior scored a career-high 39 points on 13-for-26 shooting from the field and 13-of-18 from the free-throw line as well as grabbing 11 rebounds and notching 6 blocks. Click had the game winning assist as the AMCATS connected on a last second 3-pointer for the 96-93 win.
On the road at Norwich, Click was 6-for-14 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe for 19 points. With two seconds remaining in the first overtime, Click hit the game-winning layup for the 72-70 victory.
The AMCATS (7-7, 5-2 GNAC) return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to GNAC rival St. Joseph's College for a 3:00 pm game.
