Peterson Named GNAC Player of the Week

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College forward Brad Peterson (North Kingstown, RI) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Peterson averaged 25.5 points over a two day period at the Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament this past weekend. He opened up the season dropping 31 points on 15 for 19 shooting from the field, an incredible 78.9% in just 26 minutes of play in a 77-72 loss to Daniel Webster. He also grabbed a staggering 16 rebounds, had two blocks and two assists. The AMCATS took the consolation game, a 73-61 win over SUNY Maritime, Peterson cooled down a bit only shooting 66.7 % from the field (20 points) but was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line, collected 7 rebounds, had 3 steals and 3 blocks in the victory. Peterson was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The AMCATS' return to action on Tuesday evening when the host Clark University at 5:00 pm at the Fuller Activities Center.
