Tivnan captures second straight TCCC Pitcher of the Week Award

PAXTON, Mass. (03.21.11) – Senior Brendon Tivnan (Worcester, Mass.) was announced as The Commonwealth Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week, as announced by Commissioner Gregg Kaye on Monday afternoon.

The right hander tossed his third consecutive complete game on Sunday, tossing a two-hit shutout during a 5-0 victory over rival Curry College. He recorded six strikeouts while allowing only two walks, needing to face just 27 batters to get through seven innings of work.

Tivnan has now thrown 21.0 straight innings without surrendering a single earned run to begin the 2011 season. In three starts, the senior hurler is 3-0 with three complete games and two shutouts. He has recorded 18 strikeouts over 21.0 innings while allowing just seven hits, all of which have been singles.

Tivnan and the AMCATS are off to an 8-5 start to the season, including a 3-1 mark during conference play. Anna Maria returns to action on Tuesday when they face Fitchburg State on the road for a 3:30 pm start.
