Tivnan selected as ECAC Pitcher of the Week

PAXTON, Mass. (03.15.11) – After being named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday, senior Brendon Tivnan (Worcester, Mass.) was announced as The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Region Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Tivnan went 2-0 during the RussMatt Central Invitational while compiling a spotless 0.00 ERA over two starts for the AMCATS.  He allowed just five hits over 14 innings of work, striking out 12 batters in the process. The senior right-hander opened the week with a two-hit shutout versus Worcester Polytechnic Institute in which he fanned eight and walked just one batter in seven innings of work.  He returned to start AMC's final game of the trip, tossing a complete-game three-hitter over Wittenberg in which he struck out four and allowed just one unearned run.

Tivnan and the AMCATS return to action this Saturday when they begin conference play with a noon doubleheader versus Gordon College at Wachusett High School.
