Scafidi selected to All-TCCC First Team

PAXTON, Mass. – After a record-setting sophomore season, Anna Maria College right fielder Jeff Scafidi (Worcester, Mass.) has been selected as a member of the 2010 All-TCCC First Team, as announced by Commissioner Gregg Kaye on Wednesday afternoon. Scafidi led the conference with a .484 batting average, a .531 on-base percentage, and a .766 slugging percentage. The sophomore outfielder set the AMC single season records for hits (60), runs batted in (46), and total bases (95), while also tying the program's single season marks for doubles (13) and triples (5). Jeff collected his 100th career hit this year and became the AMC program's all-time leader in runs batted in (84) and total bases (178). Scafidi was named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference and NCAA Division III National Player of the Week for the time period of March 22-28. He batted .750 (15-20) during that week while compiling a 1.150 slugging percentage. He had eight runs scored and 16 runs batted in, collecting at least two hits and an RBI in every game. Jeff helped to lead the AMCATS to a program record 20 wins so far this season, bringing them back to the TCCC Tournament for the first time since 2001. Scafidi has continued his outstanding season in the playoffs, with four hits during AMC's opening round upset win over second-seeded Western New England College. Scafidi and the AMCATS will be back in action Wednesday versus Endicott College at 3:00 pm.
