Tivnan honored with TCCC Pitcher of the Week Award

PAXTON, Mass. (03.14.11) – Senior Brendon Tivnan (Worcester, Mass.) was announced as The Commonwealth Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week by Commissioner Gregg Kaye on Monday afternoon.

Tivnan was outstanding during the AMCATS' spring trip at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. He went 2-0 on the week, compiling an unblemished 0.00 ERA while going the distance in both of his starts. Over 14 innings of work, Tivnan allowed just five hits, striking out 12 batters in the process.

During his first start of the season, Tivnan tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout versus WPI in which he struck out eight batters. He returned to start Anna Maria's final game of the trip versus Wittenberg, and went the distance for the victory while allowing just one unearned run.

Tivnan and the AMCATS return to action this Saturday when they begin conference play with a noon doubleheader versus Gordon College at Wachusett High School.
